One of my favourite running shirts says on the back, “If you see me collapse, pause my Garmin.”  And thousands of other anal-retentive, obsessive compulsive, runner and roadie gear junkies could relate and all nod in agreement.  Yes, that’s how hooked up many of us are to our Garmin, Polar, PowerTap, Quarg, Strava, or whathaveyou GPS-enabled/wireless/Bluetooth/ANT+ devices.  There’s always an app for that.   And post-ride/run, we’re in front of our computers analyzing the data…

A couple of days ago we posted the Dora Helmet Concept that lights up like a Christmas tree.  Now this is the Lifebeam SMART cycling helmet, “with integrated heart rate sensor, allowing real time, accurate, hassle-free heart-rate monitoring.”   The helmet itself is a LAZER Genesis helmet.  The proprietary technology is the sensor and processing unit integrated into the helmet – and weight weenies take note, it’s just 50 grams.
