Just in time for Cadel Evans and Tejay van Garderen to mount their challenge for the TdF, BMC just released its new SLR01. These days the expectation for new bikes is lighter and stiffer, and BMC delivered. With their in-house developed computer modeling, they were able to quickly prototype and model over 34,000 designs. They’ve trimmed weight on an already light frame by a not-insignificant 160 grams, down to 790 grams in size 56, while making the already stiff frame a claimed 25% stiffer. The result? The company calls it, “acceleration redefined”.
