Team Europcar
Another wildcard team for this year’s Tour de France, this might be the last year that the team rides under the Europcar banner, a French rental car company. Last year Thomas Voeckler became a media darling after taking stages 10 and 16 in the Tour, and winning the King of the Mountain jersey, while Pierre Rolland took stage 11. Lotto-Belisol
Lotto-Belisol is the Belgian version of French team FDJ: Primarily Belgian riders, sponsored by the Belgian lottery and Belgian corporate sponsor, riding, of course, Belgian Ridley’s. They took three stages last year, all by pure sprinter André Greipel. A German – close enough. 🙂 The team rides on Ridley Noah and Ridley Dean TT bike, equipped with Campagnolo’s electronic Super Record drivetrain. Continue reading Lotto-Belisol
FDJ
Predominantly French FDJ rides the French Lapierre Xelius, and of course, the title sponsor FDJ is the French lottery. They won a couple of stages at last year’s TdF, including the first stage win by young Thibaut Pinot in dominant fashion. The Xelius is paired up with Shimano componentry. Continue reading FDJ
Euskaltel Euskadi
Spanish team Euskaltel Euskadi in their well-recognized orange livery rides on with the Orbea Orca equipped with Shimano components and wheels. In order to maintain its UCI World Tour status, the Basque team changed its policy of having primarily Spanish riders.
