Even with the current popularity of the GoPro HD video cameras to record our perceived athleticism on bike, ski, or whathhaveyou, not everyone can swing the $100+ for it. And many owners would tell you that having the GoPro mounted on top of their helmet is a recipe for nauseating video quality akin to the original Blair Witch Project – the left/right/up/down motion can be vomit-inducing. The solution? Strap that thing to something more stable and preferably at the fulcrum of our mass, namely, our chest.
Enter the Miveu POV strap system for your iPhone. It looks to be robust, fairly inexpensive, ~$60, and may be an alternative solution to the GoPro. Our reservations? We’re already strapping our Garmin hear rate monitor to our chest, and maybe our Camelback backpack when mountain biking, and strapping something else might be tedious. Our other concern is not the system itself, rather, the battery life of the iPhone.
But check it out, and let us know what you think.

Pretty cool. I was wondering when somebody would come out with something like that…
It’s cool looking and appears useful. But what happens when it falls off and you run your phone over, drop it down a rocky section of trail, or dump it in a puddle?
