Earlier this year Campagnolo released its 80th Anniversay groupset, in the limited edition Super Record. If you’re willing to pay the price, Ebay has them starting at around $3,500.
Now Orbea has partnered with Campagnolo to release the Orca Gold edition in Japan, limited to just 30 copies. Yup. A gloss and matte naked carbon Orca frame, the Campy 80th Anniversary Super Record, and Bora carbon wheels with obligatory 80th anniversary decals just in case your riding buddies haven’t a clue. And it’ll cost you over a million and a quarter….yen. Or around $13,000 at today’s exchange rate.
The owner of my local shop just bought a bike that he built back from a guy with a 50th Anniversary group set with 24k gold embellishments…for a steal. The set is in excellent condition and it’s absolutely beautiful.
Nice….we covet those actually. Eyeing the sets on ebay but the Di2 is tempting also.
