For what it matters, since I’ve now got a bike with a tapered top tube, almost every time a tapered top tube bike goes against a straight, I vote for the tapered. I’ve got my Trek and my Specialized setups virtually identical but the layout of the Specialized with the tapered tube feels vastly superior. I’m not quite adept enough in bike fitting an manufacturing to understand the difference. Still a bit wet behind the ears.
