Hard to tell. I’ve been dealing with a lot of trademark law myself lately and it’s pretty flimsy… They will have already have been granted their own trademark for S-Light before they ever put the bike on the market. Specialized would have to plunk down a ton of cash to fight the name and though they’d have a case, at least as I see it it’d be 30-70 that they’d win. We in the cycling realm get it… Convincing a judge who probably has no clue how iconic that “S” is – because the only thing he knows about bikes is that people he curses on the way through his neighborhood ride them – is a long shot.
Interesting. But also can’t help but think, of all the names they could have chosen….
That S-Light is awesome! staging issues, but awesome nonetheless.
Think they might get in trouble from Specialized?
