SRAM Red 22 is here!
At SRAM, mechanical shifting a la Shimano’s Di2 or Campagnolo’s EPS wasn’t the goal when they (finally!) released their new 11-speed group. They can claim instead to have the first hydraulic brake road group. They also claim the group is “trim-free”, meaning you can fully go up and down either ring without getting the dreaded chain rub. Introduced late last year – 12-12-12 – to be exact, is the world’s first 12-speed electronic groupset – get it?. Made in Italy by Tiso, the four-piece groupset consists of front and rear derailleurs, cassette and shifters, interfacing wireless via Bluetooth.
